Emotions martyred
decayed and
returned to dust.
Black as the earth
in which it came.
Feelings die
lies live on
to tell the tale and
explain away the scars.
Is it just me,
Or does everyone fade into apathy?
I thought I was deep,
yet here I stand in shallow waters
wondering where my passions have gone.
Once I swam
now I wade
where bottom feeders dwell
nipping at my heels.
Is it just me,
