Travels

Caught.  Stolen glances are not as sneaky
as we perceive them to be.
Our glowing orbs hide, ashamed and embarrassed,
beneath the eight fronds of black lashes.
Those lashes, they enhance the smirk of your crouching eyes.
Extend your hand to receive a ptero-kiss from mine.

Time’s essence sails away
over waves glossed with pavement.
The silences are snapped as you laugh.
My sorrows get lost exfoliating.
Shivering cymbals and a mocking transport
create the melodies of the soundless ambiance,
allowing Imagination’s veil to unfurl.
Earthworms present the opportunity to become a millionaire.
I have not studied.  I have forgotten the refrigerator.

I lean upon you.

We realize that get-rich-quick schemes
lead to only failure.
Patience dear heart,
I will wait for you if you wait for me.
My curious heart paints the landscape
of our unknown destination.
Darkness fades into the light as day retreats to night.
Who knew that caramel and chocolate could be so sweet…
