Whispers of the Unknown

I wonder what people see in my eyes these days,
Sunlit brown and amber
As the wind sings heightened notes in my ears
"Oh Little Sister change comes and swiftly too."
My head is upturned towards the sky
Multi colored warnings flashing through my mind
But a strange exhilaration too
It cries out in my very bones

Cowrie shells fall
As those I've lost
Put their hands on my shoulders
Including a once fragile patriarch made strong again
Questions are answered in patterns
Then still more in the cards laid out on the floor
An offering taken by way of the cup of coffee
Beneath the sink
With an uttered prayer

Patience creeps up my spine
As calm wraps her wings around me in slumber
I drift in waiting though wondering still speaks
A king answers hushing my chaos
Grounding me when I panic in disasters touch
"All will be well, oh just hush and sleep awhile."

Dreams break over my psyche
Like the waves over windswept sands
Gold coins of truth glimmer in otherwise confusion
Falling against the water soft and slow
A glimpse of what may be
Tugging at my soul as I wake

I head through the days
As that reminder brushes it's fingers through my hair
"Oh Little Sister change comes and swiftly too."
Whether it be for good or ill
Something is planning on rolling in
Unexpected, unannounced
Though I know not what
Will it consume us or let us dance within it?
