Turn Up the Music

Silence is my enemy,
as I think about you.
Battling with my own mind.
with no noise to intervein.

Always struggling with my own thoughts,
I plead with the silence to subside.
The higher my thoughts raise in volume,
the silence follows.

When I can no longer stand the silence,
I turn on the stereo as loud as it goes.
Although the music is turned up high,
still my thoughts are louder.

The louder my stereo's volume goes,
the easier it is to tune out reality.
That's just the type of girl I am,
when thoughts of you consume my mind.

I can't hear anything outside my thoughts,
until I blare my stereo beyond recognition.
Reality being far too hard to face,
I just turn up the music.

Author notes

This isn't my best work but its from a cute quote. "I'm the type of girl...that turns up the music way loud, just to tune out reality"

    the Truth

I can truly relate to this awsome poem
this stanza really got to me in an astonishing way:
When I can no longer stand the silence,
I turn on the stereo as loud as it goes.
Although the music is turned up high,
    still my thoughts are louder.
