You threw me away with the trash
I came down hard when I crashed.
you suffered no repercusions, no back-lash.
Someone came to my rescue, you knew.
But you still hurt me more; I withdrew.
The odds were somewhat stacked; I stewed.
I came apart at all my seams, full throttle.
I reverted all the way back to baby's bottle.
you left me on a new search; ended up at Cottle.
How was I to know that you were so deadly?
you wore no sign, and no kind of head bandanda
you just laid out the yellow peeling of the banana.
I glided on the slippery slope of dead love
lost in the maze of a lover's tryst gone wrong
how can I get back myself after all it's been so long.

You can't. Each moment is always a new self. Take the reigns and head for the self you want.
