Wishes from a Garden Well

My garden wants to welcome me,
with wine and warmth; while waiting
for the heat haze of summer, to dazzle
and dance devilish, in divine, fire flame Radiance.

Red, ruby tinged, two lipped, tell-tale teasers, kiss
the late fall of April snow; melt his heart in eager readiness,
as May bursts upon June with impatiens of Youth.

Fuscias jostle bizzie lizzie,
to overhang the skirted balcony;
catch visions of red Astilbe chinensis,
cheering zany zinnia; whose lazy eye will
wander the grounds, in giggling rapture of intent, to
capture the fine, flame throwers of red hot poker players.

Carnival Queens arrive in state
to steal the summer show- from Augustus to September.

Yet, all this heat is to come;
for now, I dream in blue and thoughts are hazy,
within the moistened mists of scattered forget-me nots;
weaving carpets of dreams at my feet. While wild bluebells
drip the dew, from upturned cups of childhood, tilted fairy caps.

Retreating, to calm the blood in cool repose;
I cast cold stone, in shady structure of sunken pool.
Slow, gaping carp, waking from winter hibernation,
nibble lily pond leaves in half light; before full bloom.
marginal marigolds, reflect a multitude of sunshine
beneath the smooth surface of a trance like sheen.

Beyond, the slightest breeze stir wind chimes to Bach
and a moss covered, jade Buddha, holds balls high and smiles.

    a beautiful poem...

    ...with effective alliteration and personification. The emotion is vivid from the first verse.

    I love the 'impatiens' of youth - clever.

    The description of the different flowers is cleverly done. It is vibrant and well thought out.

    I am captured by the feelings of the second last stanza and the picture of the last lines - with Bach to appeal to the ears.

    Very well written...a very enjoyable poem.
