Something you fear, Something you love

You think you're free,
  I'll show you different.
Let's see how you fair,
  Against my words.
I'll twist your mind,
  And squeeze your thoughts.
Control over you,
  Is how I live.

I'll make you fear me,
  And scream for your life.
The life you don't have,
  for it's in my hands.
I have domination,
  To do as I please.
You have no control,
  It is all with me.

Love is nothing for you,
  It is something you fear.
There is always something bad,
  That goes wrong with affection.
You will always be hurt,
  There's no running away.
I hold you by a leash,
  You cannot break.

Life has no meaning,
  It is something you fear.
You want to reject it,
  Your worthless existence.
Don't take it away,
  For life is too precious.
Your life in my hands,
  You cannot take back.

Rage is your friend,
  It is something you love.
Keep it forever,
  This unleashed frenzy.
A part of you,
  It is all you have.
Your anger I hold,
  To use as I wish.

Death runs at your side,
  He is something you love.
Roaming with no soul,
He lives to guide your hand.
Sparing you for the ones you kill,
A smile plays on his pale-blue lips.
You are his puppet,
  With no strings attached.

Fear for your life,
Which I hold in my hands.
See as it crumbles,
When I squeeze it just so.
I made you fear it,
  This dust in my hands.
Now I have total control,
  Over yourself.....

  • I'm glad to have found a longer poem in my contest. Most were moderate to short length. Anyway, this kept my interest throughout and had a good median of emotion and imagery. The only thing I didn't like much was the comma after each line. I understand, sometimes it helps with the flow, but with this I feel it damaged it. It didn't really need a pause after each line. Nonetheless, great poem, and thank you for entering
