I heard strange music in the cattailed weeds,
It hung upon the air flung by the breeze
From off the midnight lake and through the trees,
A quiet tune of tambourines and reeds.
Then from the nearby grassy tor ghost steeds,
Pale beasts of smoke and foam from haunted leas,
Came down with silent hoofs by slow degrees
Across the moonlit dark enchanted meads.
And on those lily pads within the lake
I watched an elfin princess swiftly dance,
And mesmerize the nearby sitting drake,
Then cause the gauzy steeds to neigh and prance
To her own elfin time and music then,
And pull me far away from living men.
Please tell me what you think

This is beautiful and i know it simply has to be about me. (I am an elf you know) Your sonnets are nothing short of fantastic. I know it's not in a contest but by the power I have as an elfin princess, I give it one of these:
