Deceitful Images

The veil of beauty
fades in time.

Like the petals

of a blossom
falling all around...
the shallow surface

of conceit.

A prisoner to the lies
vanity's mirror tells.

I personally feel that if you were to go back and look at this, perhaps there could be room to expand on this piece.

I'm glad I'm not vain, or I'd go insane. Because I'm surely nothing special to look at. Thank you for taking the time to enter the "Fight for the Gold" contest. I wish you the best of luck Bill... Scott

This piece can be taken a couple different ways, and that's the beauty of it. Either she is suddenly exposed to the rest of the world for the horror she is beneath her pretty façade, or even worse, she realizes for herself that her beauty is only skin deep. Thanks so much for entering my contest!

    kewlness

This was really good. It was short and to the point. It was really interesting way to compare deceitfulness with the petals falling from a blossom. Great write and Great job!!!
