I think my heart grew wings
and flew away,
enchanted by gleams of Sun
in clear blue sky,
and taken by flower form clouds
across an arc of night
and stars, always more beautiful than the last.
I think my wishes took flight
beneath the soft face of full moon,
left to find a place of dreaming dreams
to join silent prayers hovering in air,
became a bath of silver to wash
away the marks of life.
I do not miss my heart,
it was never really mine; was taken
by a woman at birth and passed on
I do not regret the leaving of wishes
for they must be free or fall
but the light,
the way is simply lost
without the light.
Please tell me what you think

did it fly away on silver strings?
or did you give it to the depth
of a woman's eyes,
that made you sigh on first glimpse?
perhaps it was never yours to give
to anyone; but to receive when you heard
that first whispered smile 'hello'

well, you had me from the first two lines!
what i find amazing, is that when you love someone you realize that the previous love before them was nothing compared to the present...real love (this is what i was reminded of at the end of your 1st stanza-the stars)
love such as this, makes it possible to feel as though it's okay to give your heart away, and not miss it!! well said!!

I like the idea of wishes becoming free.
Maybe sometimes we keep on wishing too hard for things happen, while we should just let things happen.
The loss of light, well that is something else, that is when we find ourselves lost, or missing that essential part of ourselves.
You have this special way to add different feelings to your poetry. A mix of soothing beauty and thoughts with loneliness.
I enjoy reading your talent h
