Tides in my blood seem to follow the pale moon
Back to my innocence, and I dream too much
Of what was, but I'm a slave to these dreams
That bypass the screams, any thoughts of
Past pain, instead nostalgic, ah!! I was
There, tides in my blood, like the oceans
Flowing towards the shore, destiny, so I followed
My dreams to a past that I thought was gone,
And I paused beside his stone, I bent low
Laid my lips against that cold marble, I am
Older father, I've seen the world, now I'm
Back again, following the pale moon, and in its
Shadow, my innocence, so I constructed worlds
Of imagining, a companion to me, walk with me,
Let us take us there, old crushes, ah!!
I saw her blush, yes you, I remember then,
But do you remember me? Those tides in my
Blood that summon nostalgia, and a sweeter
Kind of pain, and it's like a candle in the
Darkness of this harsh present, a bane to the
Sins, and I loved the girl with the scarlet
Lips, and eyes the color of violets in bloom,
So I followed behind the moon, I stalked my
Innocence as he led me there, to a place
I'd dreamt I'd see, so there I was, to a time
When my father watched his son run the mile,
Such a gracious time, back then, and the line
Recurs, it plays over and over, my favourite
Record, no my favourite song, that is why
I sing along.
