lovely intrigue.

there is an intrigue
in your intelligence.
in your passion for Christ.
in your doodle interpretations that baffle me.

there is an intrigue to you that goes unnoticed by most.
there is an intrigue that i wish i hadn't noticed.
because it is this that broke my heart.
because even in rejecting me, you were intriguing.

you explained everything in a way so...complex.
you made it seem as if it were an intricate system of wills and desires.
when really, really, it was the same as it always was.

girl likes boy.
girl tells boy.
boy doesn't like girl.
boy tries to let her down easy.
girl tires of being let down easy
(it makes it so much more difficult to be angry at boy).

and so it is this intrigue that you possess that i try to sway away from.
it is this intrigue that i scramble from.
and it is this intrigue that will have me fallen
before i can even stand back up.

i've decided that i really really don't like the 'girl likes boy' stanza, but i don't know how to fix it...any suggestions?

This was awesome! I really enjoyed it, you said everything so matter-of-factly, yet it was still poetic.

"there is an intrigue that i wish i hadn't noticed.

    I love this part!

    Good write :-)
