Alone in my field of flowers
I sit weeping for hours
The winds whirl, the sky goes black
I know now, I'll never go back

But was it all worth it?

    EXCELLENT

The eternal mystery - the mystery of existence. Why we are here, what is the meaning or purpose of it all? - this enigmatic question has haunted humanity from the beginning of creation but an answer is yet to be found. You have given a very poetic expression to that feeling in few lines very admirably indeed.

I almost needed a dictionary to understand all that though. Lol just kidding. =)

You know, I sit in Ohio, having lived in California for 45 years, and know I'll not go back to stay, as far as being worth it? Only time will tell. Well done for the prompt...Scott

Glad to see I could write and have someone actually relate. I hope you don't miss California too much. I hope it was worth it for you.
      Thank you.

I only miss the weather in the winter, and the ocean and fishing in the summer. Other than that, i dont miss the rush and gunshots and high prices and illegal aliens at all.

I can completely understand that. It wasn't the same ocean but when I saw the ocean I loved it. But you can't have everything. As long as you can be happy with what you do have =)

    I don't know, was it?
Good work for the prompt. There's no reason you shouldn't like it. It says something and that's what matters.

    Good luck in the contest.
