I can't escape
the dismal fate
I've suffered through the years.

Alone, I cry
wishing that I
could shed my hidden fears.

Birds fly
the stormy sky
witnessing my tears.

    this is one poem that I can relate to as I'm sure that others can too. the first 2 stanzas are what hit me the hardest. such a sad poem.. excellent take on the prompt and excellent poem
