Peacock Evening

~~

I felt pretty
surrounded by warm feathery voices
drifting in pungent sea filled air,
down river wending,
stars staring down the milky way.

Moist night air,
seaweed strands thrown across my breasts,
moist fingertips tracing my heart.
Eucalyptus scented vine wound around,
exciting narrowed reedy breaths.

The past, a boomerang,
returned to split my mind.
Memories hold mysteries,
acrostics of humanity,
to be discovered when alone.

I felt pretty,
peacock perched, awaiting her peahen,
evening breezes caressing my core
where passions seldom stirred but
were reawakened to roar.

Amazing fourth stanza, especially the middle lines, specifically "Memories hold mysteries" . Such fluidity from one word to the other and one line to the other, you get a sense of peace and serenity just reading it. I love the first and last stanzas having the same beginning line =].

    Complaint time.
Read my rules and put what you need to in your author notes pleeease . Other than that, good luck!!

You have placed the aroma of the eucalypt in an exotic setting where it is tangential to the thrust of your poem which I did enjoy reading very much. Interesting title and fine images. Best wishes,
