he was a big reader indeed .
I was a seventeen year old,
who always had sisters around me you see.
Well you know girls we talk all the time ,
and the quiet for hours was blowing my mind.
A conversation I would try to have you see,
and I sounded like a scratched record repeat repeat.
So I saw he wasn't listening and went about the house ,
I would jabber up a storm but no repeats now .
He stopped once and listened and yelled out what now!
and I turned and mimed the sentence and gave a bow.
He thought I was crazy and went back to his book once again,
but the funny thing every-time he looked my way I just flipped my chin.
Oh this he couldn't stand and threw his book to the side,
then came over to me and with a funny look asked are you alright?
All of a sudden I broke loose and every phrase I said it three times then gave my head a jerk,
What what what do you mean mean mean jerk jerk you did this to me ,
and it upset him for what he was doing he just didn't see .
Books are wonderful babe if your alone,
and time spent with some one you love seeds need to be sewn .
So unless you want me to go find me some entertainment I suggest you lay them down,
at least to answer me for you never know what scoming down .
For at bedtime I just might be deaf ,
when you decide you want some time and I put you right back on the shelf.
For your the one teaching me how so you can't complain,
if I decide like you to put you on my time frame .
Author notes
There are ways to bring to light the things that happen with people .So often they dont even realize it when they do it and it will continue until you bring it out . If you bring it out with temper behind it they will ignore you morew and leave you in the dust .So be clever its something us women are master at .Hhahaha

This is a really cute story. It may not have been cute when it happened, but a nice story to remeber. I'm glad that you were willing to share this with others. UNT

Certainly a subject that many can relate to! You tell the story well but the rhyme is a little forced and has no definite pattern. Still, it's an interesting take on the contest prompt.
Thanks for entering!

LOL
So very true...
Like I have always told my husband,
I get a bigger response out of the wall than out of him
He got tired of me saying that and made him think,
now he stands and talks to me at the kitchen sink
Talk about funny...I really enjoyed you sharing this one...As many women can definitely relate to this subject indeed...And excellent advice to them...

Very clever write! You made me laugh, then think when I reached the last few stanzas.

Oh my! What a great job you did on this one!! And I know there are many of us women that may or may not do this one. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it don't. My husband goes from one extreme to the other... I have tried talking to him, I have tried showing him. And now I just don't know.
I will think of something I am sure...
Best of luck in this contest!!!
and love
