Wanderlust

New faces and places, experience she traces

everywhere I've been, the trails I've taken.

Endless, so infinite, when to go and what to see;

the chain of time and travel unbroken;

living and learning, discovering who I'll be.

Making choices, hearing voices, they rejoice

that I've entered the world. Finding myself lost

in the spice of life and various cultures;

whether soaring amongst clouds or an ocean tossed,

I dodge and dart, avoiding  circling vultures.

Rolling, rifting, the traveled sphere ever-changing

like sparks and sprays of spreading fireworks

lighting the expanse of night's toppled and leaking ink

where tiny dots sprinkle, twinkle, and perch

spilling down and across the depth of the nocturnal brink.

Gliding, guessing, gravitating around a globe

of lulling waves; simultaneously they lift and drown  my spirits

with their liquid, flowing, soothing motion.

A crystal spray of their rippling song mingling with salty air

where I inhale the rhyme of the wanderer's emotion.
