''death's bargain''

sitting alone, a day so dreary, in his room
whispers moans, feeling weary, filled with gloom..

man: i always fall short in all things i do;
must i always be like this?
death, swing your scythe and run me through!
in death there may be bliss.

dark one, oh hear me, please listen to my plea;
for i know that you can endow
a humble request, i ask , you see!
to one who rules below.

death: your mind screams such foolish utters
you do not understand!
consequences of what your mouth mutters
imbecilic, moronic demands!

however, i'm feeling rather generous
i might grant you what you seek;
but first, a favor, no matter how lecherous;
you shall obey, so to speak!

man: life has turned its back on me
what was once good is now nothingmore!
in peaceful death i long to be
doomed to be forgotten lore.

life is empty, life is hollow, i feel nothing;
i'm willing to do your task.
nothingness on morrow, i'm rotting;
what's the favor, might i ask?

death: listen fleshling to my instructions for i shall not repeat
to say where what im yearning for lies.
to fail to do this task i ask will mean eternal suffering on earth;
i'll strip you of your demise!

go to the place where the body of your dead son lies;
then unearth him from his grave.
then call his name aloud, you must suffice;
his soul shall be my slave!

man: oh death, my son i beseech let his soul be!
such macabre request is this!, not that! i implore!
for his soul, i know, is in peace and free,
i cant, this request i daresay, i totally abhor!

death: what i ask is not so dire
i though that you were brave
so now i must go and retire
for what i want lies in that grave

    a very macabre tale. gave me the chills it did, really a brilliant write!!! I especially enjoy the way you write it as a conversation from a play script

    Thanks for sharing this,

    Luck.
