An intelligent mind hides
A delicate heart
One who breaks easily
But is hidden by a smile
All day she appears happy
To quash concern
But if you look
Look deep into here eyes
You can see
Her broken heart
And her battered soul
Until the sun goes down
And the heart can feel
Safely at home
Where she needs not pretend
To be strong
The heart can break
Tucked under the covers
Late at night
The delicate heart
Thinks she just might
Cry a little tonight
As the sun rises in the morn
She smiles to greet the dawn
A smile she will smile while she is not alone.
