My Fate Lies With Me

Brought up to know what's right from wrong
life's road ahead so very long,
experience will make me strong
I can belong, I can belong.

With each mistake a lesson learned
with wisdom gained my life is turned,
for love and peace I have long yearned
I'm still concerned, I'm still concerned.

I watch and listen for my fate
and hope I'm on the path that's straight,
I'll know when I reach heaven's gate
till then I wait, till then I wait.

Each day's a climb, uphill down dale
my choices mine, I must not fail,
for often life is very frail
I must prevail, I must prevail.

I'll watch life's lights along the way
and choices each time I shall weigh,
I swear myself I'll not betray
for this I pray, for this I pray.

For faith will also help my quest
each day I live will be a test,
if at day's end I feel at rest
then I am blessed, then I am blessed.

    Ohhh la la ...

A most enjoyable read in form. The use of repeating rhyme in each last line worked well and your message shared in utter honesty was lovely. It's always a pleasure to find such enjoyable poetry. Very nice! joy

This is amazing. I really liked reading it. My favorite part is:
"I'll watch life's lights along the way
and choices each time I shall weigh,
I swear myself I'll not betray
for this I pray, for this I pray."

I love the way the last line of every stanza repeats. Beautiful write.
