These destitute feelings-
so vast, so bitter,
leave me wondering if there's anything worth loving.
They are strong, and you-
so very weak.
You can reminisce all you like,
but it won't bring back
all those things you ever dreamed of.
The sensual stroke of a lover,
or the exotic scent she carried,
No. None of that will awaken the feelings that have been lost.
The stormy coast line,
the storm out to sea...
That is all that's left for you.

I know exactly how you feel, when you lose a past love and past emotions, nothing seems to make life any better, nobody truly can save your heart and soul anymore, you just long for it though.

VERY NICE WRITE POET
GOOD LUCK IN THE CONTEST -
The stormy coast line,
the storm out to sea...
Nice...something so deeply despondent about this simple metaphor. Well done. -
Wow what vivid imagery and emotions throughout. Wonderful use of the word bank. I so enjoyed reading. Good luck in the contest
