Many people have asked me to go on the Emaus walk, so far I have no desire for that.
For those that do it should be done because they are called to do so.
I have just finished a case in which a woman who was 98 died from a brain cancer.
Her suffering was great and so when the last weeks indicated that she would pass, we walked a walk togther.
She went into the valley of death in pain and sorrow but left it for the mountain top.
Martin Luther King once said that he had been to the mountain top and I believe that is true.
It was not so much anything that I did because to be with a actively dying person takes a lot of energy.
However it can be a beautiful and spiritual thing to do because you realize the depth of Christs love.
He is able to bear all things for us and what a joy it is to see a soul leave behind the pain and sorrow and enter into his kingdom.
Every life has its story, every person that walks into your path guides you in many ways.
For the most part we do pray that is is a good one, however we are not to judge those that are not.
One of the things that she did just before she died was to lift her hands as if she were playing piano.
You see she knew every word of every song in the hymn books and she played piano.
Her favorite line was, "There is a bright side somewhere."
So as the breathe left her body, I felt relieved, blessed, joy and sorrow at the same time.
She really strengthened my faith by her dying because I know that there is indeed a bright side there.
So here is to you Mrs. Annie Wright, my how the angels are going to love your playing the piano.

Beautiful I could hear the piano, and her singing. You really have a way with your words. I could hear my Mother singing with her. It also lets us know there is a better place waiting for us.

Outstanding
This poem impressed me deeply with a beautiful integrity that sees God as something living and inspirational. This poem speaks of human love but also finds joy in God and his ability to heal our pain. I thought this was a brave poem that is compelling to read.

Very Uplifting!!!!!
Your words touch my heart. It is always a comfort to know that the love ones who have passed are safe in Heaven and will be waiting for us. Thank you for sharing this. It meant alot to read with Mother's Day next week and losing my Brian last year. His birthday falls on Mother's Day this year. I do feel him still here with me. His death has taught me not to fear death at all. This was beautiful to read.
Bless You,
Sandy

very nice memoir to Mrs. Wright. I love how the people you can get to know affect your relationship with Christ. How death is not a bad thing if you know Jesus.
