Salute the flag - no thinking,
Take their word - no blinking,
We are right, they are wrong,
Every nation's blatant song.
Love your country must be right,
Query politics with all might,
Don't act dumb or deaf or blind,
Make them see you've got a mind.

I have read this a quite a few times now and I still am unsure how to comment without going into an impassioned rant. I will just say I quite like it and that I have to agree with the subject and how you have expressed it.

There it is there, each person in a free country has a say, if we don't like what we see we are the ones that make it right if it's wrong and when we can't then somethings really is wrong. Thanks for your entry and good luck in the contest.

hoodwinked
This is cute. It's point is simple. You have been hoodwinked by the Poetic Bandits. Have a nice day

I love this. This is great. Fantastic flow and rhyme to this piece. The words are fired off, bullet-like and really seep into the mind. Keep writing.
All the best

Now this I call 'straight from the hip' Your words are there for the taking, but none can say that you are or were referring to yourself or your country. Universality? Good luck. Frans
