To be on this soil,
To breathe this air,
To feel the wind blow on my face,
To feel the sun wash it’s warmness over me.
My soul has been set free,
My heart beating to the rhythm of Africa
I spread my arms apart
Close my eyes and lift my head up to the heavens
Slowly inhaling in the air
I’m finally back in the arms of my true love
In the dry heat, with no sign of rain
The warm breeze gathers no dust
The ground is so dry, hard and hot
From the constant beating it takes from the sun
There is no fresh life just motionless trees
There is no grass in my eye’s view
The smell of dryness feels the air
And still how stunning you look
How long have I been away from you?
How I longed to be here with you
Even in these times that have brought you to your knees
As you straggle to rehabilitate yourself
With the eyes of the world on you
I rejoice in your embrace
Let me kiss the ground I stand on
I love you Dzimbabwe
My precious home.
Lou.

Two thumbs up
I am loving this write. I think in order for the world to become more environmentally friendly we all need to take as much pride in our homes and homelands and you take in your Dzimbabwe. I can only imagine the beauty of such a land, I'm still hoping one day I will get to visit somewhere else outside of the states. Great job on this write.
