Month of Mary

May - 'tis the month
of Mothers and
Mary, fairest Queen and Mother.

To thee we bring
flowers, to thee
our hymns we sing.

"Mother Dearest,
  Mother Fairest,
Help us all who call on thee!"

But more beautiful still
than the freshcut flowers
and hymns we sing

Are the flowers of virtue
and good deeds-
and these, too, we offer thee!

    This is a lovely and sincere dedication to Mary, most blessed. Your last two stanzas are a thought to inspire us, flowers of virtue and good deeds are indeed more fragrant. I see that Marion loves the poem, do you know that she is an icon artist? I thank you for bringing this to her celebration.

    I am having goosebumps all over ...
    you hardly know me, but already know my love for mother mary ... better than those who are physical family ...
    I am so blessed to have been given the name "marion", meaning "little mary" in french ... a connection to the divine mother that cannot be severed, no matter what ...
    on may 1st, the morning after I got married 9 years ago, I went to the matisse-chapel in vence where I live, and offered my wedding-bouquet to mother mary ... the custom is to throw it amongst the invited unmarried ladies at the wedding-party, but they were waiting in vain ...
    I knew whom I wanted to have my flowers - thoughts and deeds ...

    thank you from my heart for this wonderful spiritual offering to mother mary, which touches me more than any "personal" poem ever could ...

    ps. I love the representation of the virgin of guadalupe so much, this picture has a very special place in my heart ...
