Run Like the Wind

Run like the wind
Through the knighttime’s soul,
Feel its heart beating,
Its face not whole.

Blown to bits
By one bullet’s blast at close range.
Now its face is strange.

Run like the wind,
Never look back.
Leave the old, start life anew.
But first a vendetta must be paid with vengeance.

Travel life’s wilderness alone,
Observe people’s actions
For one person can make a difference.

No one person is above the law.
They are below…
Far below, lost in the own souls,
Digging their own graves.

Run like the wind.
Ride its sweet revenge.
Make a difference.

Humbly seek guidance
From the great spirit,
Try to outrun the flaming arrows
Loosed toward a target unseen.

Run like the wind
Beseeching technology’s lore.
Enlightened by its aged old wisdom.

Looking through its red strobe-lit  window’s soul,
Peering into the blackness of the knight.
Only by working together can they succeed
In ridding society of its parasitic seed.

Run like the wind,
Michael Knight.
Ride like a ghost in a gleaming black machine

Author notes

Dear Amanda,
I don't expect you to know what this is about, it is a tribute to a TV series a little before your time from back in the early 80's, 'Knight Rider'. When I read the 'Run Like The Wind ' prompt, it was what I thought of... since I'm re-reading the book. Thank you.

Yeah... LOL! I am happy that some remembered it. I'm re reading the 1st 3 books to the series. They are the onnly ones I have. I don't know if more were written or not. I agree, the people don't know what they have missed or are missing if they don't know who the Knight Rider is. I think it was the best show on TV back then.
I'm glad that you like this tribute to it. I try and watch it when it's on TV here. They now have it out on DVD. All 4 years or however many it was on. Thanks again. Love and hugs...

I thought this was a pretty good poem.... It was kind of all over the place and could use a bit more imagery, but it kinda worked. Thank you for entering my contest!

Thank you. I didn't think you would know exactly what I was talking about. It's kinda based upon the pilot episode to the original 'Knight Rider' series form the '80's. It was just something I wrote off the cuff. It just flowed. I am glad you liked it. Thanks for stopping by to read and comment. Take care and good luck with judging.
