Four Folds

Intimacy comes easily to me
An open soul
Willing to give
A touch
A cheer
A prayer
Share the wonder of the world

Intimacy takes time
Trust... Respect
Shared awe and humility
Touching in four folds

Intimacy says you impress me
I long to be with you
It is always playful, wanting to please
Shared fires for warmth and comfort
What you think is amazing and important

When it breaks, it heals slowly
But is always worth the wait

Forgive me my overbearing way
That I say is passion
I never meant the harm
I am about comfort, not condemnation
I am not counting your sins

Touch me again for warmth
Sooth my grief, celebrate my life
I want to learn all about what you know
Pray and worship with me

So together we can touch
The heart of God

I think this is the greatest interpretation of what intimacy is, or at least what it ought to be. This is a sublime piece. Really wonderful.

    Love,
    Camille

Thank you. When you look at your child; and think- this is a part of me- is the same feeling I get when something like this comes from my pen. I wanted the four elements of intimacy to be stronger; but the penultimate stanza comes pretty close to the four ways one can touch. Most I talk with about the concept only touch two ways, and occasionally a third. I only had one husband say he touches in all four ways, and with grown children he added, 'but only recently.' One woman realized she didn't touch intimately in any of the four. She was very sad. I told her that now she knows where to plant the seeds...

This was amazing! I loved how it spoke so clearly and how you ended it, the end was so deeply thought.
Thanks for sharing this piece with me.

    Beautiful!
I love the little angles in which to express
something that would normally be exhausted.
Fresh, full of breath and divine connective tissue.
I especially like the first person approach, and
how you decidedly surrender it to the Lord.

    Favorite lines:
When it breaks, it heals slowly
But is always worth the wait
    Practical, yet fruitful.
Nicely arranged in a good form. I couldn't touch it
    better.
Thank you for a quality poem about the quality of
    love in one's life. Agape!

    Warmly, CookieZeal/DB

    Straight from the heart

It's amazing how one need not use the most technical vocabulary in the world to make such a profound statement. Writers and lovers alike can learn from this poem! Beautiful!

    I loved the willingness ...

to be vulnerable in this write ... It is simply divine.

The exit lines say it all.

    Well done.

    Love

I sometimes use the statement that a piece could be a Hallmark card. this one of them and requires special hands to evoke just the right moment. You got a hold of that here and again is a piece that I am not sure I could summons the ability to do myself. Your ability to place love into words is always grand. RC
