An age worn butterfly landed on the ground
It stretched its wings and then it suddenly died
There was very little that I could confide
Even today an answer has not been found.
Wanting to live, to survive I know it tried
It did not whimper it died without a sound
An age worn butterfly landed on the ground.
It stretched its wings and then it suddenly died.
I softly blew a wind to make its heart pound.
I whispered it could live, to myself I lied.
But even if Gabriel had sat there and cried
when soul is gone life will no longer abound.
An age worn butterfly landed on the ground
It stretched it wings and then it suddenly died

A sad yet beautiful concept, the repettition of the main theme works well, though some of the rhyme is a little forced. Still, very emotive.
Thanks for the entry!
