John the Baptist

'A lonely voice cries in the wilderness'

I see the pain of others
I feel my own

I am so unique
I am so alone

I know where you've been

I already walked that path
for in that insanity

(Iconoclast666 Acrostic)

I lost my way.

Can you hear me, 'I cry.'
on and on my voice echoes
night after night

only to be stilled.

Clearly, only I can change the
lament of those that I love,

as I walk through the desert
seeing the all in the one.

The river approaches, I sense him.

6 seasons I lost in wandering.
6 ways that separated me.
6 the number that owns.

    Well done!

An impressively twisted take on a well known biblical figure. I would have added the acrostic note in the Author's notes, it detracts from the whole of your verse. Keep your pen to the page and thanks for entering!

at first I thought this was to be a tribute to the forerunner of Christ but now I see the message is to reach the mind of 666

'Clearly, only I can change the
lament of those that I love'

These lines interest me the most; it's a task that's often the hardest to accomplish and is sometimes the heaviest burden.
As for the rest of the poem, it holds a slightly mysterous air that I like. Although I think your 666 pholosophy's a little off but that's just my view.

    Peace Georgia

      Hi!

It was an acrostic for the pseudonym for who I expect to be a fellow contestant.

An epic poem in a few well chosen words. Taut and concise. The pain of carrying his burden is evident. Thank you for an eye opening read.
