Oh Lord she'll never understand!
She'll think I cannot stand to see her.
She'll think shes failed again,
she'll never know how much I need her.
She'll wait for days,months A year?!
Hopping maybe I got sick again.
When they move her, she'll hope,
Blindly trusting that I'm waiting at the other end,
thinking I'll be there, ready to show her off for a ribbon.
When others ride she'll wonder why.
She'll panic, fearful that she hurt me.
When someone sings or a song she knows comes onto the radio
She'll perk up and wait for hours
Thinking I'm avoiding her, or that I'm somehow delayed.
The words she knows in spanish
will her new friend know too?
Will they comfort and explain away her fears when she dances?
Will they let her be a mom?
Will they understand her requests to run
or her quiet little whispered questions?
Will they give her honeyed oats, in her favorite wrapper
or vanilla chips for special fun?
Will they push her away when she wants a hug
Or when she wants to snuggle?
Will anyone ever see her beautifully gentile talents?
Will the barn talk?
Would she understand?
Could she know how much I'll always love her?
I wish that I could tell her!
I'll always love her.
I Will always love Her.
Would they give her bows
and clip her nose and braid her tail when nervous?
Will there ever even be a 'they'?
would they say she's fat or lazy or slow or think she is rebelling?
Could they ever love her?
could she forgive me for even this?
She'll think I cannot stand to see her.
She'll think shes failed again,
she'll never know how much I need her.
She'll wait for days,months A year?!
Hopping maybe I got sick again.

This is a very nice poem, I like the feel of it and the fact that you used a creative format for your poem. My youngest sister loves horses, and I'm sure I could hear her praying like this if she had one and she had to leave it.
Thank you for your submission,

Thank you for entering the contest!!!
I enjoyed reading about your wonderful horse, Beauty. It's a shame you two had to seperate... Although this is a very sad piece, your creative poem is an ode of loving joy, straight from your heart. Thank you for sharing, and I wish you all the best!!! Peace, Cyn
