After The Sun Goes Down

They tell Us to listen to the world around Us
To behave and play nice with all the other atrocity-majors here
But they have no idea that when they turn out the lights in this freak-asylum
The Monsters come out to play again, each night, without fail
And They sing songs of Dead entrepreneurs, fallen castles and unseemly ghosts
They bathe their hands in the blood of the fallen,
Like Romeo,
Like Brutus
Like Us
The raves at the disco-tech each Friday night,
Don't dare to compare with the horrors of the Bloodsabbath on Saturday
Raising the altar to the "Heavens" below
Drinking not to salvation
But to Damnation
Believing it's all Worth it
Because We know it is
And it always will be
The God-like scriptures written by mortal hands
As thine true Immortals dance around,
We are baiting them to invoke the wrath of their Deity
Not that they ever even will
We watch the sun rise before heading home,
Listen to the crows and ravens,
Beaks poised for the blood hunt
And the massacre of the gravestones,
The upheaval of the bodies within the coffins,
And We sulllenly dredge Our broken bodies back to the Hellhouse We are locked in
Every day
The shapes of misfortune written on Our back as brightly as if in sunlight
The light which We will never see
The vampire-figurines stalking us through the abandonned appendage of a being
Begrudging Us with open eyes, open mouths
We live free of hope, hatred, denial, or fear
We live in the moment of the World's eyes
We live the Sharpest Lives of all
