Clutter Clearing

No better way to clear the mind from clutter
than chanting hymns of praise to the Divine
One-pointedness … and wings of mind won’t flutter
around in world of objects minds define

Sing “Om Namah Shivaya” or “Hail Mary”
or “Chema Israël”, if you’re a jew
Reciting Holy Name is like the ferry
that helps unite the shores of “God” and “you”

The concepts of the ego’s separation
an obstacle we have to leave behind
break ego’s shell, choose pearl of meditation
the sacred mantra of the Name in mind

    Hoodwinked!

I think that this is like meditation, it allows you to center yourself and come back to Earth. To make yourself feel whole again.

I'm sorry I am late with the hoodwink, but hope you are glad for more comments!

    strangely enough,
this morning I was sitting on the deck everything was covered in show, very early morning all you can hear were the birds, it was priceless, yesterday I was struggling a bit with intrusions of thoughts, I knew it was the struggling that was a problem but I was a bit confused, this morning I woke and realized fill the space with prayer, I do pray but I did not think to do this, I tried to quiet my mind it wasn't working until this morning, I just filled my mind with prayer, what seemed so confusing yesterday was so simple this morning.
    Hail Mary
God bless you my sweet sister
would it be vain to say I hope to grow up to be like you someday
of couse your write is amazing to read this morning
it is outstanding, and has touched my heart.

"would it be vain to say I hope to grow up to be like you someday"

well, then you would have to shrink
I'm lucky, I have my shrink at home ...

see how silly I am, I'm sure you don't want to be like that !!!
and it's useless to say that you are already the amazing, perfect, magnificent Self ...

just keeping our rainbow-bridge connected through my poetic invasions
and sending much love your way ...

Hail Mary is what brought me here,

and always helps me to keep moving forward,

    such a divine intervention,

too much clutter in the minds of humanity,

we can always help others by filling our thoughts with love,

it does away with quite a bit of clutter,

I hope to learn from reading you writes,

    I have a feeling that I will,

    so thank you maa,

     in advance.

    my blessed friend

Marian, congratulations on the silver. The song I wrote for your birthday contest, includes many of the cleansing aspects for the soul, that you have taught me. Our ego is what keeps us from letting go of stress. After many years in the healing field, first mastering this myself, I now can be the teacher. Title is the perfect choice.
    Love, Shana

I like it very much. Any form of meditation clears the mind and lightens the heart. I love the image in lines 7-8, that is what a religious view can bring into the meditation experience. Terrific!

    Wise Motivation!

    maa, your words are inspirational,
cheering on those of us who
    "meditate on the side."
    By now, Mary, I imagine
is used to hearing my "Hails"
as I chop salad veggies, do dishes,
toss in the laundry, take a shower
or add an an item to the grocery list,
My rationalization, better to let ring
the silent prayer than wait for never-to-arrive
moment when all the thoughts are quieted, dismissed,
for true meditation. Still working on that!

    Or praise me....

I'm all for leaving the ego behind on some things, most things, but not all.

I've no idea how to meditate, though I've tried when I get migraines. I've tried to will them away, so to speak.

I like the inclusive tone of the poem, too many people want to build walls around faith, and exclude anyone who is not of that belief

...sort of like what free verse poets do to those who rhyme. Sorry, I had to do it.

Jenny is my kind of gal...now it's my turn...I have my reservations about this reservation, but I'll reserve my final...don't be so reserved, add something...

    interesting

not sure where to take this particular piece, as a statement, a noun, or a state of being as in verb. For me, I'm a reserved person to most; I only express through poetry. But since I don't exactly know what the contest is about, I wish you the best of luck.
