I cried like a baby Knauz when you passed away
Now someone on AP probably feels the same way
I left open the gate
I didn't mean to I forgot
You made an escape but you really hadn't thought
That a highway was near
That cars would hit your furr
I would have given you mouth to mouth if my mother
Hadn't held me back
I had a feeling something was wrong
She jumped in the car and before long
She placed you on the counter as your life drifted out
You were so loyal
So obediant
So sweet
So caring
So soft
So softhearted with me
I know you were a pet
But I viewed you as a friend
We shot the breeze together
Looked at the trees together
Did everything
Life could have been better but you made it easier
You made it fun
You were MY dog
My only true one

The poet in you have made this into such a beautiful and vivid pain. I have lost my pet who was so dear to me also and while this should be like deja vu, it's like i was reliving it all over again. Some of my friends even questioned why I was so 'hurt' over a cat. I told them lose a child, or a friend and come back and tell me the answer to that question. Great write.

verry nice and sad :(
thanks for this poem. i can relate to this, and thats what i was looking for. its hard to explain to people how we feel, as they dont understand our special relations with our special someone. well done, and good luck in the contest
