Little Red Robin

Brave little red robin out in the snow
How you survive I’ll never know
Chirping away with your sweet little song
How can you remain so cheerful so long
Your favourite worms all froze in the ground
Hardly anything to eat to be found
But there you are, still there in the spring
As cheerful as ever despite everything.

    Absolutly Amazing!!!!!

AMAZING!!!!! I think you did an excellent job here!! I love the words and it sounds so beautiful and shows you are very talented. I'm glad you entered!! But it is a little strange that you wrote a poem that exactly goes with the contest, before even seeing it, you even have the exact type of bird!!! Are you psychic? Hehe, just kidding! thanks for your entry!!!

In my neck of the woods, South Central PA, the robin is one of the first signs of spring. At least it is the first sign that most people recognize. Red winged blackbirds do it for me. The males show up first, then females.

Your rhyme is sweet and I enjoyed it very much, thank you for the birthday bird poem.

I have read that the robin cocks his head to hear the worms in the ground, some say it is for him to see them. Next time I chat with one, I shall ask him.

Well done, and thank you again.
