Femme Anubis

golden locks framing jackyl mask
cascading over her palest shoulders
those shoulders bare death
carrying them forth from life into heaven
egypt renewed in the modern
by the deathly woman

Author notes

Just my thoughts on the picture. To me, it looks like the mask the embalmer wore in ancient Egypt to embalm the dead. I hated the word limit/requirement, but I did it, however, I believe it was detrimental to the original work.

anyways, the only reason I called it Femme Anubis, is because Anubis was a male God, not a female godess. it is always depicted as a male, and always as a jackyl, either part or whole, except for in one place, in the Temple of Abydos of Rameses II, where he is actually depicted as fully human.

Just my take on the prompt.

death...

ahh, well, i entered this in a contest, and it seems that the contest disappeared...hmmm...well that sucks.

oh well, its a picture of a woman, with a mask on, and she is standing next to a gravemarker, with balls of light floating above each hand, symbolizing spirits, I believe. well,I was curious as to where that contest went.
