Ghostly aspirations fill my mind.
Visions of past realities
Beckon me to revisit
Once dear friends long removed.
Were they real?
I think so.
Memories of various chapters of my life book
Are missing sentences and paragraphs
Obviously due to their unimportant nature
A new reality has sent them
To a place in my mind
Where all irrelevant memories and knowledge live.
Geometrical equations, boring historical data
Ex-girlfriends birthdays etc...
This new reality has a permanence
Unlike any other
With all the clarity of a visionary
With all the strength of a mother grisly bear
And eternal as the word 'forever'
There is nothing more real
than my children's love.

Wow I'm getting nothing but great poems for this contest. Another journey to adulthood. The catterpillar casting away the cocoon and spreading wings, showing the world what they believe is important. Love the form and the use of title and timing. Great job and thanks for sharing!
