You said you'd be around, and you'd never let me fall.
You said we were friends, you said you knew it all.
But push came to shove, and you didn't have my back,
now you feel like you're the one under attack.
I've been told I was harsh, and cold to the bone
but you betrayed me; oh, I should have known.
My trust in you has now gone sour
and our friendship disintigrated within an hour.
But who's to blame for the petty crime?
Me? My friend? Her? You? Or I?
They were nothing but catalysts, don't you see?
Now our friendship has ceased to be.
This time I don't feel lost, hurt, or sad,
to be honest, I think that's pretty bad.
I've been your friend for five and a half years,
been through blood, sweat and tears.
I know one day you'll realize your mistake,
and maybe then you'll stop acting so fake.
It's a shame that our friendship was the cost,
for when you fall in "love," it's your head that gets lost.

I know I'm not the only one who's been kicked to the curb when the buddy finds a girlfriend. And it's more comical when you're the one trying to mend the friendship, but you're told that you're not trying.

I definately know how this is, except it's when the buddy finds a boyfriend and you're out of the picture. I could feel the emotion in this. You did a good job. Thanks for entering and Good luck in my contest.

Oh!!! I so know what you are going thru! Well kindof. I'm sure the situations aren't the same, but I lost a good friend, well someone I thought was a good friend, recently too! I've been trying to write about it, but nothing comes out. I really related to your poem though! Good Job!
