The Pallid Prince (Un-Finished)

The Pallid Prince
Upon his throne
Reclines sanguine at ease
A Fate profound
He ponders there
But hurries not the deed
The scion solemn
Last liege of forgotten line
Ponders lays
And lies forgot
Beneath the refuse
Of many an ancient hoary age
Lost to rhyme
Beneath the moulder and the slime
Of Aeons lost beneath the waves
Ever youthful
Full-wise in Daedalan contempt
Holder further
Of the throne of ancient men
Who were before Man
En-throned in might!
Above his Luminous brow is bound
By circlet
Of smith-wise crafted
And rune wrought bronze
Intertwined with the memories Deep
And ancient Rites of Old
-A crown befitting
The deep and darksome thought
Weigh'ed there
In the mind of the Master
Who was of Old
Ponderous beyond mere Mortal revery
Contemptuous of the fleeting day
The Pallid Prince
He Knows full-well
The Dawn and Spring of Man
Soon to wither
Ere the failing of his day
Ere Night has come
And Might in Darkness doth return
Lo! Even ere the the scale turn
And Man become bowed down
Beneath the Weighty yoke
Of the Master and Lord
-Un-Assailed
of Yester-Day
