What is real?
What is true, my heart asks.
Just when I begin to believe,
the rug is jerked out from beneath me.
There are days when I doubt my very sanity.
Why must I suffer so much doubt
to where I even have no friends?
I doubt peace.
Is it a trick, a lie?
Is it true for others
but not for me?
Oh, doubting heart, STOP!
You must begin to believe in SOMETHING!

This is very good and is an excellent example of how the ego tries to control the truth of the universe that we know in our souls to be the oneness of peace and love. It really shows how the ego removes our self empowerment when we doubt.

Very good poem, the self-reflection of the essence of doubt, and how the inner spirit feels. Well written, thank you so much!

you articulate the normal belief that doubt promulgates a destruction of foundations, that we need foundations of love assurance, or belief in precepts, or predictability of commitments made and commitments kept.
you capture the inner pain the dialogue of doubt drives.
?You must begin to believe in SOMETHING! ?
Don't we always believe in something? even if it is there is so much, I can't fully commit belief in any of it?
could in fact, doubt be a friend?
