In the nightstricken boughs of the elder tree
The moonwell shone on a face of white
So softly, the illumination made free
A creature who can only be released by night.
The Starfairy laughed, so softly, so gently
She clapped pale hands as her wings lifted
From oaken woodwork, the imprisoning Great Tree
Her legs came free as through sand sifted.
Dancing, childlike, the Starfairy celebrated
Freedom, so tender and sweet
She rose into the night, and, elated
Came to touch our dreaming sleep.
She reached out her hand to capture the world
And in them held captive a thousandfold dreamers
With that power she transformed, and new wings unfurled
From the Lady Nightmare's hair flowed black streamers.
In the Twilight wood she finds her power
And in gloaming does she truly flower.

It's a very beautiful sonnet!
I love the tone of fantasy and myth in this, it's truly magical, as well as the air of nature. I enjoyed reading this, the rhythm and flow are very strong. Thanks for the entry.
