Alone
I dance when no one's home
By myself
I put my heart upon the shelf
Because I don't want to get hurt again
I don't even know how I've been
Ever since he broke my heart
Tearing my whole world apart
These last few years have been so hard
And from them I will always be scarred
I need someone to help me cope
And someone to give me hope

This, no one I have shown
Because it's so hard for me to let anyone see
My hearts locked up; I'm hiding the key
Everyday I try to be strong
But I always feel like I did something wrong
Why would anyone treat someone so bad
Causing them to feel so sad
I just wish someone would turn my world upside down
Turn my life around
Alone
I dance when no one's home
I've grown
With my wings I have flown
Because when I'm with you
It's like I already knew
You were always there
But I was unaware
I should've known that the one to help me
Was no one other than thee
I'm just glad that I have you, you are my rock
And now my heart, I will unlock
I don't want to dance alone no more
I want you to set the pace
Could you sweep me off the floor?
I just want to feel your warm embrace
As one
We dance under the sun
What has begun
I hope it never comes undone

This is amazing. I really enjoyed reading this, the rhythm and rhyme make if flow really well. I would love to hear this put to music, it sounds very lyrical to me. I love the lines "Alone/I dance when no one's home", placed throughout the piece, build the strength and make this spectacular. Thank you for this entry!
