Candle light, candle bright
rose petals scattered tonight
I dream of you back with me
heartless dreams or so it seems
beaches and heartaches seem to roll
as the tide ebbs in I go for a stroll
petals I see simply surrounding me
candles burning so very brightly
your love for me seemed to wash away
just like your promise to always stay
I will continue down the path of life
only knowing I will never be your wife.
