I'm Coming Out

Been in the tunnel awfully long.
Buried my joy and my merry song.
It's time to unwind and recline,
coming out is the thing; so fine.

Categorically, I will add to
the response of this new view.
And, the lingering will cease,
as my everything, I do increase.

Captured victory is springing,
laughter's songs I'll be singing.
Refrains of perfect melody I seek
from the restored lips of the meek.

Valiant duty saw the pain's tide,
as the loneliness of the soul's ride,
turn the flow; switch-a-roo, now.
Doesn't matter if I don't know how.

I see the handwriting on the wall,
the sad tears have been now recalled.
Tender is the rush of the royal flush
enough so to make a black girl blush.

Hit the ground running, sometimes that is what new beginnings feel like, always a relief after a long time in prison, so to speak. If based on fact, I'm glad the sad tears have been recalled.

    • There are all kinds of prisons you know, the prison of the 'soul' is the worst kind..
