'Hello my name is Tommy, I just became aware today'
And with those words The Who transcended space and time
'Harmony and understanding' sang the Fifth Dimension
And a song from Hair called for enlightened rhyme
But I was born in the time of hair metal
And New Wave and New Kids on the Block
The only Nirvana my friends knew
Was the kind where Cobain gets shot
My father and I have a rocky relationship
As did he with his father before
But one thing he taught me for which I am thankful
He taught me the songs from the 60s
Those sweet loving hippie songs
Taught me the lyrics, and taught me what lyrics were for
'Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare'
George Harrison and Hair and many more
But they weren't looking for Buddha or Brahmin
It was life they were searching for
And life is a universal thing
Throughout the world, throughout the stars
They rejected the cold and cruel world
And said that the world would be ours
Krishna - fight the power
Krishna - love each other
Hare - Love the world
Hare - And seek enlightenment
Hare Krishna
Hare Krishna
Author notes
People are constantly amazed that a guy my age can sing all the old hippie songs, but the fact is 'peace love and harmony' never goes out of style.

I loved this one. You had so much to say, and said it better than anyone could. It's perfect. And I understand exactly what you mean.

This is great! I love the title especially, and the story that's being told throughout this. Wonderful!
