My two rascals:
One pepper-colored tan, the other black-
both rascalions whenever I turn my back!
Naughty little dogs!
You've torn my favorite rug and throw,-
and all you do in response to my scolding
is to sit there smiling and pridefully glow!
You rascals!
What am I going to do with you?!
I can't leave you alone for a minute
or even take my eyes off of you!
You mischevious...oh!
Don't you look at me like that-
Don't give me that devilish grin!
You know better than that!
I've been too lenient with you;
I should've sent you to obedience school.
I guess I deserved this for choosing
instead to homeschool you.
But despite your antics today
I love you, I always will.
If only I could control this horseplay,-
maybe you'll mellow out with age someday.

HOODWINKED !!!
This is an honest and funny look at these two lovely dogs. How can you stay mad at such lovely smiles? Pets, although don't always behave as we would want them to bring so much love and companionship to a home. Thoughtful and caring write about these two adorable rascals, thanks for sharing.
Write on dear poet.
You have been Hoodwinked today by the Poetic Bandits because WE CARE!

This is an awesome poem. I have to get on my cats Sammy and Molly like this. They keep tearing up my Dad's favorite chair. They also play with each other too rough. LOL Enjoyed the read! Thank you for entering my contest.

They are so cute a pair of rascals too. A very funny write and a lovely tribute to your 'fellas'. Thank you for sharing and good luck

Your two rascals do look very cheeky though the smallest one looks the cheekiest because his face looks a little like a teddy bear. The written style of this poem made me feel as if I was in your home listening to you talking to them, which gives quite a friendly and inclusive approach to reading it. Dogs get up to all kinds of naughty things and can take some training but with patience and love they usually get there in the end and they do usually mellow with age. All dogs have their own character and it is this that keeps us entertained and endeared to them.
If you are open to suggestions there are a couple of areas in your poem where slight changes might tidy it a little
… rascalions (I’m not sure if your version is American spelling) could be either rascallions or rapscallions
… mischevious should be mischievous
Thanks for your entry.

Awww, they are so cute. I have had three pets and I am on my fourth. They are family pets. We tried obedience school with one of our dogs. It didn't quite work out the way we planned but they do mellow out. As long as they aren't leaving little surprises all over the house, it will be fine. -

I am so glad to meet you and so happy that the first poem I read is this precious puppy poem! I am the obsessed possession of two golden retriever puppies. They rule my life. If you ever want to talk to another animal over, here I am.
Wonderful poem.

Yeah, love is that way. They are both so cute. I was almost able to get a dog ast week that I wanted so badly, but then my Dad misinterpeted something I said and said I couldn't get it. I am still so mad about it... I'd been looking for weeks and thought this guy was THE dog for me. It's a border collie/lab mix and just adorable... I am probably going to write a poem about it today.
Cute poem. It is so funny what dogs will get into.
