I saw you today
your beauty overcame me
and I started to cry.
I didn't want you
to see me like that,
so I ran from you.
I came out of hiding,
and I thought I was
gone long enough.
But, there you were
waiting for me.
You took and held
me in your arms.
I didn't want to be held,
I just wanted to hide.
But, you knew better,
and you just held me there.
As I cried,
you comforted me.
I was scared to say,
I love you.
But, I really didn't have to,
because you said it first.
And, from that moment on,
I knew that I was truly loved.
That made me cry more.
So, I sat down in the hall,
to let my tears fall.
People came and laughed at me.
I thought that you had left me,
because I was all alone.
And, you weren't there
to tell them to stop.
But, you didn't, you just went
to get some tissues for me.
You told me you
would never leave me.
I guess, I must have
forgotten, your promise.
I ask for your forgiveness,
and you say that,
I am already forgiven.
I want to say,
I love you.
But, instead
I just end up saying,
I'm afraid.
You tell me, there is
nothing to be afraid of.
You tell me, that you
will always be there for me.
And, you were right,
you still are here for me.
Author notes
I wrote this a few years ago when I was still in high school. I was having a really bad day, so I just started writing, and I started praying for comfort to my sorrow. And this is the end result to my bad day, a poem about my Savior Jesus Christ.

Oh... This is really wonderful. The emotion is really... there... You had me almost crying in bits... And smiling in others - I really was attached to this one.
Wonderful job,
and best of luck in your contest

I hate when the 'return the favor' takes me to one I've already read. GRRR
