Image of Spring

Missing image

No poem this time.  Just wanted to share an unusual photo I took yesterday of four newly hatched baby birds.  I saw the four eggs about two weeks ago and waited for them to break out.  My face was one of the first things they saw so they think I'm their mom now, much to the dismay of their actual mom, who always chirps at me from the chimneytop when I get too close.  I make a kissing sound and they all crane upward to be fed.  I was amazed by the rich yellow of the inside of their beaks.  Everyone I've shown the picture to says they look more like flowers.

You never seize to leave me wandering in my self laughter. Being the picture is yours, I can't figure out if it's flowers are some other great work of art that you turned into another laugh much needed. Either way, it's all good.

What an interesting picture. I can't even imagine being so close to a newly hatched bird. When I first glimpsed the picture, I also thought it was of an exotic looking flower. Do you suuppose it's nature's way of protecting them? ~Karen Thank you for sharing...it's a marvelous picture!

    I thought.

I thought that at first it was flowers. But since I have raised a few baby birds that got out of the nest, the throats are very yellow. Nice photo that you got, I hope mama did not dive bomb you too much.

Awww....this is so cute!! What a lucky capture! At first looking into the nest and seeing their bodies I though snakes. Then I thought what unusual flowers, it almost looks like I'm looking down the mouth of a bird! I only know what the inside of a baby birds mouth looks like because I hand raised my cockatiel from the time it was a baby, I don't remember his mouth opening this wide though. Amazing how far they can open their mouths isn't it. Keep us up to date on these beauties. They really look cute when they start getting their feathers. Would be really great if you could get them on their first flight! Love it Mark....just love it!!

    Dear Mark,
Now I have to ask: Name that Bird !! What kind of baby birds are they?
I love the photo! I am sure those baby birds are blind, so they don't see you at all. I bet they smell you though. LOL

    Thanks for sharing.
