Sad Songs(Sonnet)

Chronicles of melody savored past
Kept a weary head from complete collapse
As in the mind darkened clouds were recast
With seasons retained whilst misery naps

Softest notes of angst and acceptance held
To tame spirit by means of mirror true
As within sullen hymns black was expelled
Bounced off sad lyrics which rang so blue

And I found hope in hopeless surrender
With comfort of discomfort to keep me
Far from the fearful shadow of splendor
Which sat too delicate as dreams could see

For fictitious sorrow lived as true friend
In worlds not my own where I could pretend

  • This is a beautiful write. I stink at sonnets runs and hides I rather go to the dentist lol.But yours is amazing thanks for sharing much luck
  • Incredible penning!

I listen to sad songs to make me cry, to feel the ache - riddled within tear stained solace; it was and has always been a refuge for my shattered heart.

A beautiful sonnet. But, you knew that.

This is lovely! Penned in decasyllable you have composed a musical quality to this sonnet. Some how you were able to pull off a good meter even though the stress fell on the artical in several places. Well done!

    Love,

This is a beautiful line. It makes one thing..where else can we pretend? Society tells us everywhere. A deep write. Made me think. Well done!

    Spreading some love,

  • A sullen laced sonnet indeed. For me, the quote cannot compare. There is a great depth and presence of solitary wonderment... Well done. Much of what you pen here is what I ingest from these saddened tales of woe that I drown myself in. Great piece.

  • Was that a shameless promotion, sir?

It doesn't matter because I love this write so much.
I feel the emotion rolling through the whole thing.
    It flows so beautifully.
    So amazingly pened, good sir.
