The journey was not without challenge
Nothing that couldn’t be managed
The way was open,
The horizon clear
Angry skies and threatening winds
I stayed my steps, dug deeper in
Progress being made,
The journey continues
Now comes rain, despairing sight
It’s tougher without the light
I seem to be static
This is not my place
Shelter from the storm is what I need
To Him I will ask, no, I will plead
Just let me hold my place
While the storm passes
I held to the Rock with all my might
Wind, rain and cold were winning the fight
I thought you’d protect me!
Keep me safe!
No longer to the Rock could I hold
Had to let go, then slipped into its fold
Wind, rain, and cold all blocked
I am shielded
The darkness left, and the light, what a warm shine
I came to realize the fight was not mine
When I let go
My Rock held
