Blue

The shades of blue I can see
On her figure
Like they were tattoos
But Daddy gave them to her
She was wanting for the blue to stop
But Daddy's anger and the alcohol
Get the best of him, every time

Blue sister, blue mother
The monster who lives under the same roof
Treats us as if we have no value
What's wrong with him?
I'm so blue

Save me!
If you get this
I'm crying out before it's too late
My arms are blue, my legs and chest are too
I'm living in a way
That I just can't
Anymore

Very Sad, But I ve been there done that. It does hurt and it does turn blue although often times mine turned purple. Great job once again. Have I mentioned you are one of my favorite Writers.

The first stanza of the poem reminds me so much of homes that have daddies coming home drunk and creating havoc out of everything. For a long time it has been my concern for the countless who are victims of alcohol. You have perfectly given me a picture of the color blue.

Thank you for writing this poem
If I may, perhaps you would want to change the 'I'm' into My in the fourth line of the last stanza. God bless!
